Yokohama & Kamakura

In addition to “Model Course 1: Minato Mirai Bike Exploration Walk” and “Model Course 2: One-Way Cycling from Modern City to Ancient Capital” aim for the Seisho area!

Chigasaki Southern C & Eboshi Rock

Located near Route 134, the Chigasaki Southern C is a well-known symbol of Chigasaki. If a person stands to the right of the Southern C, the gap in the C forms a complete circle, symbolizing a connection, making it a popular spot for those seeking good fortune in relationships. It’s also a great spot for Instagram photos! Additionally, you can see “Eboshi Rock” in the distance over the ocean, another famous symbol of Chigasaki.
**There is a coastal cycling road near the Southern C that runs from Fujisawa to Chigasaki. However, due to the large amount of sand on the road, it is not recommended by our shop.

Sagami River & Hiratsuka Fishing Port

Bayside Store, heading further west on Route 134, you’ll come across the large Sagami River. This river serves as the boundary between Chigasaki City and Hiratsuka City. Just beyond the “Trusco Shonan Bridge,” which connects the two cities, you’ll find Hiratsuka Fishing Port. There are several excellent seafood restaurants in this area.

Oiso Port & Terugasaki Coast

Oiso Port offers a different atmosphere compared to Hiratsuka Fishing Port. It features a spacious and open park that might tempt you to take a nap on the grass. With cycle racks available, it’s a popular spot for road bike enthusiasts.

OISO CONNECT

OISO CONNECT is a large rest area located within Oiso Port. In Model Course 3, we introduce three fishing ports: Hiratsuka, Oiso, and Odawara. It’s a good idea to have a meal at one of these ports. Hiratsuka Fishing Port has many small, individual restaurants, while Oiso and Odawara Ports feature large dining facilities catering to tourists.

Pacific Coast Bicycle Route Entrance

While not a tourist spot, it’s important to note this to avoid getting lost. Once you leave Oiso Port, look for the cycling road signs immediately. You should find them quickly. Once you spot the cycling road, head west. You will soon see a large sign for the “Pacific Coast Bicycle Route Entrance.”

Pacific Coast Bicycle Route and Seisho Bypass

This dedicated cycling path (also used by pedestrians) offers excellent views and is very easy to ride. The route is spacious and has low traffic, making for a pleasant ride. The unique aspect of this path is that it runs parallel to the Seisho Bypass, an expressway for cars. Rest assured, there is a safe elevation difference between the car road and the bike path, ensuring your safety.

Castle Street & Minaka Odawara

Minaka Odawara is a commercial facility located on Castle Street, designed to make you feel as if you’ve traveled back to the Muromachi period. This complex houses numerous shops selling local Odawara specialties. Being very close to Odawara Station, the most bustling area in the western Kanagawa Seisho region, it is surrounded by many other shops and attractions.

Odawara Castle North Entrance

When in Odawara, visiting “Odawara Castle” is a must! The smoothest way to reach the castle by bicycle is through the North Entrance. This entrance is the closest to Castle Street for sightseeing. Note that riding bicycles inside the castle grounds is prohibited, so please walk your bike once you enter.

Odawara Castle

Seeing Odawara Castle in person is an impressive experience! While a detailed history of Odawara Castle is too long to include here, it’s definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been before. For a fee, you can also tour the inside of the castle. There are shops around the castle, including a dango (sweet dumpling) shop, so you can enjoy a snack while admiring the castle.

Gyoko no Eki TOTOCO Odawara

About 3 km southwest of Odawara Castle, you’ll find a popular roadside station. This facility, themed as a “Fish Theme Park,” attracts many travelers and tourists by bicycle, motorcycle, and car. There are unique menu items you can only taste here, so if you have time, be sure to stop by!

Shonandaira

For those who find taking the same route back boring, why not return via Route 1? Along the way, about 3.5 km off Route 1, there’s a mountain called Shonandaira with an elevation of about 180 meters. It’s a spot with an excellent view, so it’s definitely worth visiting. However, to reach the top, you’ll need to tackle a 1.5 to 2 km uphill climb. Yes, Shonandaira is also a famous spot for hill climbing by bike! If you can make it to the top in under six minutes, you’ll be considered an advanced cyclist!

Bikeport Shonan Bayside Store

Welcome back! How many spots were you able to visit?! If you managed to see all the spots in two days, you are definitely an advanced cyclist! Once you’ve checked the bike and equipment provided at the time of rental, your return process is complete.
**There are no changing rooms in the store.
**The nearest station is JR Tsujido Station, a 15-minute walk away.
